I'm still a bit lost as to why your buggest issue is with Telecom. Their Technical Support's knowledge base should be able to quickly provide a resolution for Data Customers for this senario! it Should take 20 calls to provide mail transport to data customers. and If they are paying iPhone Users to Jump from Vodafone they should see put falls in data useage and spikes! not simply increase your Dataplan to 4GB a month.

Your email service isn't with them, if it was you would have already had access to the Xtra SMTP server. Oh with My @xtra.co.nz address that looks profession doesn't! joe.blogs@acme.co.nz is what mose SME business need. Besides, if your ISP with Authentication allows SSL pass thru then appends that accounts verified email address or simply fails the message "Reply email address not valid. Thats why they authenticated my email address with the Yahoo! Xtra servers to allow it as a valid reply email address!

If you are using another providers email access and they presumably SMTP access from outside their network. This isn't Telecom's problem - it's your email providers. OK, How many Hosting companies  do you know that provide SMTP for Domain Hosting? Many have realised that simply blocking SMTP traffic isn't the solution and that offering SSL access to their SMTP server is the best option both for internal and external email.  yeah but see above! Not ideal

If you are using your own exchange server you can secure access to your SMTP gateway from outside your network, and ideally wouldn't be using POP/SMTP anyway for mail access. You must be a like Work for Telecom Support, your just as bad as they are. I was mearly suguesting for small business with out and Exchange Server that need pop/imap Mail configured on Devices using their own domain that it's is possible with XT afterall.

Haven you got some Palco / Axis PTZ alerts or people to help out in here, than defend Telecoms XT data support team!
