Interestingly my speeds since joining XNet in Dec have been marginally better than when with Slingshot.

Although I rarely file share, and are only <1km to my exchange.

My VFX has been really good. Only voice quality issue I've ever had with my VFX was when trying to upload something to work while making a phone call - expect it's the 128k upload limit on the river plan, given downloads don't affect it?

I just assumed until reading this thread that when performance was bad 800-1200 (with Slingshot included) it was due to DSL peektime overloading, or destination overloading/issue.

I have just banned johnw230873, MadMikeX and another three user names. They all posted from the same IP address in a matter of minutes.

Obviously people complaining about xnet (or calling me a xnet cheerleader) have too much time in their hands to create different user names and troll the forums, inflating the "xnet problem" with reports of slow speeds.

Since they don't appear to be serious people, this thread is locked.

I've since being contact by all involved. I have reinstaed all accounts, except MadMikeX, who is not welcome here.

I am also unlocking this thread.

Wow, that was an interesting reaction freitasm - locking out 5 accounts and IP's!

The fact is that we are 5 individual users with individual opinions working within the same ITS department of a large company.
Of course our posts would all originate from the same public IP address but let me assure you - we are different people.  At least 3 of us are Xnet customers and have legitimate reasons to be participating and expressing our dissatisfaction with the Xnet bandwidth on these forums.

I think you may owe some people an apology.

Nigel Broad

The apology was issued when I reinstaed the accounts, except one. That one is not welcome here.

Having three people, including two different names posting from the same IP address in a matter of seconds is really bad.

What's wrong with that?  We have 500 users sitting behind the same public facing IP who can all use the internet and you make it sound like a crime when two people contribute to a discussion.  What were we supposed to do?  Wait a day between posts so that you didn't brand it as spam?

If you are serious about making a difference then start by being serious about your stuff. Being "spammy" is not funny and just makes your voice less likely to be heard.
Do you think WorldxChange is going to take that seriously? If anything happens it will be they start ignoring the trolls and idiots.

I think this is out of line, especially if you are calling me a troll or an idot.  How was anyone being "spammy"?  John started the discussion, I joined in as I suspected the "bandwidth problem" or as it turns out, possible exchange congestion, was affecting my VFX calls.

The apology was issued when I reinstaed the accounts, except one. That one is not welcome here.

A pretty strange and indirect way of apologising, just clicking the unlock button.

I think you just over-reacted to MadMike's message!

I can see what people are saying about throwing more bandwidth at the problem won't fix it and xnet can't have a large amount that is under utilised during most of the day but how do other ISP's manage? The speed posts from tcnz and sligshot users we have seen in the int speed thread seem pretty good.

Sorry, but surely you must understand that we have no knowledge of your proxy server. All we see is 3 usernames coming from the same source within a small amount of time. From our point of view, it certainly looked like someone trying to inflate their opinions by using multiple users.

Now that we know that there that IP is a proxy, it was unbanned. However, looking forward, proxy or not - people posting offensive imagery and calling geekzone cheerleaders for WorldxChange is a great way for users to be banned. I'd encourage you to encourage others not to pull similar stunts as other sites may not be as forgiving.

Finally - for those that bring up 'cheerleaders' I leave you with this goodie - if we were cheerleaders, why would we allow the discussions here, its just as easy to delete the threads. I think some people need some reality checks if they feel that way.

Now, lets go back on topic, otherwise this will be locked.
