Have a poke at 192.168.100.1, and yes any Rx signal between -15dBmV and +15dBmV is within the modems acceptance range, TCL most likley have a tighter target than that.

Quidam: Zolly -power out?  Due to weather or was it a planned outage?  (We went down a week or so ago for a few hours)

Due to weather I think.. The entire street is out, yet streetlights were still working and from what I could tell houses on other streets had power.  One of the neighbours was told it could be up to 4 hours before power is back on!  Power is still out from what I can tell..

Hey Zolly -Talk about Obtuse (of me) -I only now noticed your link to "The Cheese"

Way cool dude.

ps. getting back on topic -I too notice the activity light on my modem isn't "strobing" like it used to.

I actually tried to call Dopp a couple of times today (I got his number) but he wasn't picking up.  I'll try again tomorrow because I'm very keen to hear what he has to say about the upgrade.

You might want to give him a chance to recover... I am guessing he was burning the midnight oil to get the mass migration done and has spent today recovering...Cool

I am told the VLAN segmentation went very well, with results as good as was hoped for.

Certainly my home router is dealing with less than 1/3 of the packets it used to, and for the first time in years now I get close to my plan speeds, even in peak hour. Now I just have to wait a few days and see if this really has cured the need to reset the cable-modem every other day.

Auckland server a bit slow tonight.

Activity light on my modem flashing slower too.  Web surfing seems more reliable.

Woohoo, it's all good over here in Newlands.
Funny you mention the strobing light, i just always thought it was meant to be like that but now it's slow.
I'm also getting better speeds than i pay for, nice one telstra.

Much more stable in Kilbirnie, not drop outs tonight.

4Mbs/2Mbs to WorldXChange
4Mbs/2Mbs to Airnet

but only

1.1Mbs/200kbps to Citylink

What's that about?

On continuously is good not bad... strobing is bad. It works that traffic is shown by the led going out. If there was no traffic at all then the led would stay on all the time.

My understanding is they have no link to Citylink so you are going via the US or some such.
