Thank you. Do those Vodafone phones need to be unlocked before using Kogan (even though it's Vodafone's network)? Can use with any WiFi router/ISP?

So, the S20 FE says it's supported for Wifi calling by VFNZ but I can't see where to enable it. I've checked under quick settings and also under settings for phone/dialler, no wifi calling option to enable that I can see.

Only the Snapdragon version of the S20FE (SM-G780G) is currently capable, and the Exynos global version (SM-G780F) is due to be compatible in Jan/Feb 2022. My wife's S20FE is in that second category and is still waiting. Look in the Dialer/Menu for WiFi calling as an option, and I noticed that the S21 range have the setting in Settings/Connections/

My S20+ (parallel imported) gained wifi calling just a few weeks ago when the Android 12 update installed. WiFi calling was then added to the Dialer/Menu.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

Yup, sorry I think I asked and got the same answer last time and forgot.

This whole thing is a shambles though.

Eh...

One hand Samsung and vfnz is having to support 2 variants(due to chip shortages) of the handset(it also runs on xnz so no brand iirc) and vfnz are probably internally testing the heck out of it to make sure it works(some of the other 20 series were delayed).

On the other... Yeah it's a mess in the consumers eyes and I sympathize it is frustrating but these things, they take time.

My parallel imported Galaxy S20+ (SM-G986B/DS) received an update to Android 12 + One UI 4.0 this morning,  and finally now has WiFi calling through Vodafone available as a switch in the dialer menu. I never thought this would happen, as the Service Provider software is still shown as an UAE version. So, it now supports WiFi calling as well as VoLTE. I'll have to test to see if it hands over seamlessly when moving out of WiFi range. I think @Linux said it did for him. This is with a Kogan SIM BTW.

Now, has anyone managed to use NZ Vodafone WiFi calling while overseas? 2Degrees WiFi calling worked fine.

Hello

Haha, I m on the opposite, received the update on the android 12 on my Samsung S20+ 5G, then my WiFi calling is gone. The WiFi calling button is on at the moment.

Have you tried throwing it into airplane mode and turning WiFi on?

Known bug. VoWiFi isn't kicking in when VoLTE is active

Hello @maxineN

Tried turning airplane mode and turn on WiFi

It can go on WiFi calling

Once I turn off airplane mode, it will be go back to the VoLTE...

Thank you for confirming it is a bug, so I am guessing we have to wait for the update to get this fixed

Thanks
Jacky

Exact same behaviour as wife's ZFold3 5G, hopefully this gets fixed when Android 12 hits.

If WiFi calling use to work and is no longer working on your handset and it is on the approved list then log a fault with VodafoneNZ!

Hi. To be clear, if your handset supports WiFi Calling, but isn't a Vodafone handset, it'll still work on their network?
