Raile I'm so disappointed you didn't take on the giant.

If you had kept copies of everything it would have been a clear case and something I'd love to have seen on Fair Go given Vodafone's less than impressive service of late.

Congrats on your purchase though!

Haha i dont really have much interest in taking on giants, i just want my iphone. Im not really concerned with vodafones ethics. I think their charges are high, but they have a monopoly on the iPhone, and theyre using that to their advantage. Thats just buisiness.

If i can save by purchasing a different way, that just business too. But if its not worth my time and effort, its bad business!

Think of the entertainment value! Would have been priceless and you haven't even thought about the movie rights!

there are generally fees with downgrading your plan in the first six months, but apparently not between the 60 and 40

im thinking this might be an error....

Hi

I have followed this discussion and have based the following on this:

Bought iPhone 3Gs on $40 plan - $899
First month - $40

Cancel Telecom T-Stick datacard and use VF 3GB allowance next 3 mths - $80 (VF$40 plan for additional 2mths) - $165 (T-Stick 3 mths @ $55 pm) = -$85

Early termination VF - $350

Total $1204 in 3mths - even better deal!  Have confirmed all this with Vodafone shop but am waiting on credit check to get phone - tomorrow.

Can someone please confirm that I can definitely insert my XT SIM and the iPhone will work (or point me to where I can get the settings changes I need to make to do this?)

Thanks

PS Anybody want to buy $16gb iTouch now redundant :-)!

Yes, you can put an XT SIM in and it will work perfectly.

If it doesn't (as has been reported in these forums), you need to go back to the Telecom shop where you bought it and ask for it to be checked, it may not have been setup right. Even better if you bring the phone in when you buy/get the SIM.

Yep i have a 3gs working on the xt network. Was a synch. Just put the telecom sim in then download NZ bullets carrier file and follow his instructions. Dead easy.

dacraka: There was another set of different Terms & Conditions we had to accept in a really small long paged as scrolly box which I copied into notepad for future reading though.

Mind if I have a copy? I thought it was the same as the other On Account Terms & Conditions.

hmmm, your plans are cunning but don't work, are you adding the cost for your first monthly bill onto the amount ? add $40 to your total. I have tried doing this and since I bought the phone from Digital mobile they say you must end the deal with them within the first 14 days (consumer rights) after 14 days Voda NZ look after it.
Digital mobile will do it for free with in the first 14 days. All you have to do is send you Iphone back!! ha ha. get all your money back. I said I wanted to keep the phone, there reply was that i had to pay the phone outright, ie 545 dollars. It seems what ever we have planned Voda have a counter plan!
