I rang vodafone and the Indian dude talked me through the problem. I had downloaded some game that checked for update, (or somethig else). This is what I was paying for. It was quite easy for Raj to track down, and the game was actually quite cleaver in hiding its running in the background behaviour. It remained idle for a period before attempting to go online. vodafone ripping me off? Please I was ripping my self off. Good lesson here.

I'll stick to PLC's and stop playing racing games one day.
