GEOMAX: You only need to look through these forums to se geek talk everywhere which is evolution in the making. As to buying anything based on how they express themselves.....I buy things from people who are struggling with the English language as it is foreign to them but they seem to express themselves  in various ways which i eventually understand. I think you should loosen up the rules and be more tolerant to these evolving changes. cheers George ..

Hmmm. I disagree. The geek talk here is because this is a tech site. But it's not MySpace and it's not a point for SMS exchange. We accept changes, but we reserve the right to make this site accessible to millions who do not use SMS.

I know it's OT but I'm a member of several other forums and a moderator on www.bimmersport.co.nz which is a very non geek site but very technical. A very good reason SMS speak is not helpful is that for those participants whose first language is NOT English it is very confusing and frustrating not to mention time consuming for the more mature users (50+). Putting in place filters that change common sms speak into the correct words helps.

As for voip, i'm happy Skyping but it's all Europe, painful time difference (12hours) but i've been pleasantly surprised with the quality, helps that everyone there has decent broadband.

001 as you are using is correct for the US. Is the number you are using in your profile and is it verified? If not put it in there and verify it before attempting payments  Betamax are paranoid about security and wont proceed unless everything is 100% OK.  cheers George

It depends on which ountry they are based. 00 is an international code in New Zealand, but in the US it's 011... If they're in Europe they probably use 00 as well, so 001 should do the trick.

Best to ask their support directly.

Betamax is from Germany, so as GEOMAX stated, 00 is the correct internatiol prefix.

a US phone number in NYC would be 001 212 123456

a NZ phone number in Wellington would be 0064 4 123456

I have already succesfully verified German (fixed & mobile) and New Zealand (fixed) phone numbers. However I experienced failing calls, when I use my German mobile phone number as caller ID to call this very same number.

soulflyglm, you should retry the verfication call and contact their support, if it still fails.

If you look in the user forums at Voicebuster.com you will see a large number of users who cant verify their number and make payments. The problem is Betamax dont say why they are refuseing  to process the payment request but....these things lead the list from user comments ...
1/ The credit card used is issued in a different country to the country in the users  profile.
2/ The credit card has been used already for a different Betamax type account.
3/ Payment was refused on an earlier transcation.

If you dont know already little if any support will come from Betamax....you have to muddle your way through with help from other forum users.
goodluck...George
PS
It works well once you sort out any problems...did you use it OK to El Salvador?
