By deleted norton I assume you mean removed it using Programs and Features from Control Panel? If you just deleted the icon from the desktop it is not really removed.
Regarding the separate network issue - this appears to have caught out a number of manufacturers. My feeling is the vendor will recognise the issue before too long and issue a driver update for that - but they might not be use windows update for that. Therefore drivers provide by windows update may or may not be designed to address the issue.
If you want to provide:
- The exact HP model number for your machine
- The full network adaptor name from system > device manager > network adaptors
- Driver provider + driver date + driver version from that network adaptor general tab
- The full names of all available settings on the power management tab of that network adaptor
