kiwifidget:
I'm not sure which update did it, but I cant search in Outlook 2010 anymore.
It's a known issue. There is an update for Outlook 2010 and Windows 10 that fixes it.
It's been one of the most annoying bugs of recent times, and that is saying something!
3 new notebooks , all had 10 1607/anniversary
So I though I better install Creators on them all, via a DVD burnt from ISO downloaded from MS . get it done before they go out to the clients
sigh ...
First laptop ; after restart it got stuck at 99% . and sat there , forever
2nd laptop : creators installed without a hitch but lost WIn's activation, would not re-activate
3rd laptop : Absolutley zero issues with the creators install(upgrade)
Say what? 3 identical laptops, 3 different results . Joe public would have been stuck with the those issue. After all this time with 8&10, still they havnt
got it isnt right. Ive never had any issues installing Win7 SP1 or Vista SP's, on many PC's & laptops
These issues shouldnt be happening....still....
Asus Laptops (x4) : Win10 upgrade stopped the inbuilt mic working . on all 4 of a clients laptops. The only working fix was one that someone hacked together
from old drivers. So I had to install a hacked driver(exe) & hope like hell it didnt install some nasties. This is 2017, it shouldnt be like this
Edge on the 3x new laptops. I put chrome into the bing search , first 3 results are paid ad links . That shouldnt be happening.
A search to download chrome should not give results to link to bogus 3rd party sites for the download. Its too easy to click those ad links
& end up downloading god knows what . Joe average wouldnt know & wouldnt expect a MS Browser & a MS search engine to send him
god knows where instead of the real link.
My desktop just BSOD and then had an inaccessible boot device. I'm currently redownloading Windows 10 media to blow the installation away and start again. Needless to say I am less than happy.
Could be - I hope not but it's always possible. I did do some googling and it does seem to be an issue others have had.
Will see after re installation, which should be in an hour or so. At least we've moved to somewhere with semi ok VDSL. In my old house downloading windows at 5Mb was not fun.
I don't know where I am in the update, I think it's on the latest latest version;
TOday when I checked windows update it says everything up to date.
But then the CPU fans went on overdrive for a few minutes.
Then I discovered it was showing "update and shutdown" and "update and restart".
But whatever I click it doesn't update, tried about 5-6 times, the update and shutdown/restart still there ...
Oh well I guess there is nothing to update.
Why can't Windows remember network credentials for mapped drives?
After every update I have to re-enter them.
Delete cookies?! Are you insane?!
Now my Surface won't recognise the third monitor (via Dell or HP port extenders). No matter what I do, it recognises the main display and monitor 3. Monitor 2 is lost.
Tried different port extenders. No go.
Damn Windows.

Some light at the end of the tunnel. I have the Fall update on one of my laptops and all in all it seems to be stable and "OK" even Edge behaves better on this up coming update. The Store is still a bit troublesome and Networked drives and NAS units can cause a few grey hairs.
