Lurch: Oh and if the internet goes down I have copies locally on HDD, I also hate previews/copyright warnings/slow load Blu-Ray menus etc and just want to get the movie....

The last blu-ray I purchased, it took me, I reckon, around 5 mins to skip through endless adverts and promos to get to the movie. It was one of my biggest frustrations with purchasing disks (I've bought the damn thing, why can't I just watch it!). You want to support the industry, yet they continue to treat consumers with so little regard.

Some discs automatically start playing trailers before you get to a menu. I have a few like that. I think you can normally hit the Menu button to skip this annoying behaviour.

It puts me off too.

And puzzles me. Virtually no one likes the unskippable trailers, and you only get them on legit disks. I always thought that the studios would be trying to make their product better than the pirated alternative, not worse. (shrugs)

Thanks for that, I have previously tried skip (to no avail) so resorted to fast forward. I put a disk on last night, trailers duly commenced, menu button worked a treat.
