I am a strong believer in creating a Gangstas Paradise on an island and if you commit a crime like sexual, homicidal or aggravated violence you lose all forms of citizenship all over the globe and get permanently banished to said island to join your fellow criminals and live in the ranks of their society. If they kill, rape, torture or vandalize any of their buddies literally no one cares and its no ones fault.

I'm not entirely opposed to that, but how do you ensure they don't escape, and who pays for the infrastructure? Seems to me just shooting them all up front is safer and cheaper for the taxpayer.

Mine the sea around the island, shoot down any aircraft not officially authorised before it gets within 20 miles.

Alternatively, create a penal colony modelled on Devils Island or similar and just work them until old age...

Where did abortion come from? How is this relevant to this topic? Where the "unborn child 6 weeks away from birth" comes from?

Please explain, show evidence.

On matters to do with criminal justice, the default position of most NZers is to rant and rave whilst remaining blissfully ignorant. I doubt Wiggum even understands that a foetus that is truly 6 weeks away from birth (i.e. viable) cannot actually be legally aborted.

Yes, I've checked and 20 weeks is the limit. The "6 weeks away" is a fallacy.

Ascension Island would be a good spot for them :)

It was a moral question in response to gulfa's accusation that some of us have "little regard to human life". Stringing up murderers/rapists, sending them to an island, shooting them between the eye balls is not legal either. But its morally acceptable to some here. There was no legal claim in my question. There are laws in NZ that will be immoral to some, If you still want to answer the question then change it to 20weeks. Also there are countries in the world where its legal up to birth. So without beating around the bush, If you want my view on the subject, a baby at even 6 weeks after conception IMO has more human rights than this rapist/murderer that has been released on parole.

Nothing more for me to add here... I'm out too.

The Chinese shot two drug dealers this week - in a stadium which included school children.

Now THAT is an effective lesson...!

Because we really want to sink to that level. Do you ever spend any time reflecting on how nasty some of these beliefs are?

& their families will receive an invoice in the mail. For the cost of a bullet. Because they should have brought their son up with a better set of values. That lesson will stick with those families for generations.

It's absolutely essential to justice.

There is no justice system in New Zealand, merely a legal system which is heavily biased against victims and their families.

If we had a justice system, then people like your Mr Poulter wouldn't be appearing for parole because the state would have executed them.

I see what you did there. However you're inferring the complete wrong side of coin as to my special interest in this particular person.

They've been executing drug dealers (or at least those the purport to be drug dealers, anyway) for quite a while there and in Singapore. It's apparently not having that much effect.

No they didn't.  That's fake news from UK tabloids.

The convicted drug dealers were sentenced in public - not executed.

There were 13 sentenced - not two.
