Matthew Reilly. Start with 7 Ancient Wonders, then 6 Sacred stones, etc. etc. The most recent in the series (3 Secret(?) cities came out this week and so far its awesome.
I usually describe it as trashy action. It aint Shakespeare. I love it.
I have that book, and I got lost in in about 30 pages in, and never returned to it. Doesn't help it's a massive heavy hard cover now too, when I have my kindle for most books. I'll put it by my bed.
I'll make a general recommendation. I am not sure it's QUITE a page turner, but of all the hundreds of books I have read, the ones that I recall having the biggest impact were:
Early Lee Child Books - Jack Reacher
Set This House in Order - Matt Ruff - Spectacular book that I can't tell you about without ruining the story and "WOAH" moment that comes. I would say, just buy it and start reading. Takes about 20% of the book to get "started" but actually if you force past it, it all makes sense.
Watchers - Dean Koontz. Bone Chilling and Heart Warming page by page. One of my Fav books ever.

I started with Ice Station and was hooked on the Scarecrow series.
As I read them, Im seeing it in my head as some big budget action blockbuster movie :D Script re-write is not needed. :)
Hovercar Racer was meh.....
Contest, Temple, Tournament were all good.

Ice station is my all time favourite! I wish it was picked up by Hollywood. If you like Ice Station, read the seven ancient wonders series.
Have you read the Monster Hunter International books? Quite fun. Written by Larry Correia.
You could revisit some of the spy classics, such as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy? I re-read The 39 Steps last year and enjoyed that. Riddle of the Sands by Erskine Childers?
