Given the service i received i have no concerns, technology develops at such a rate that my plasma calling it quits at 3.5yo was a blessing in disguise, i managed to negotiate a 40" 1080p DTB LCD in lieu of a 42" 720p plasma.
Hell if the LCD packs a sad in a couple of years and Samsung replace it with a future model then it is a win win for me!
casper021: Another one for Sumsung currently 3 LCD TVs, pc screen and 2 home theatres and they are perfect not a single problem.
Consumer Magazine doesn't rank Samsung TV's very well for reliability.
I don't rank Consumer Magazine that highly for anything :) I prefer reading online reviews from forums, user reviews etc. I've noticed Consumer has using other websites information in articles and generally started slacking off. They used to be good, they have just turned pretty bad lately. Would prefer cnet reviews over them any day.
I have 2 Samsungs, a Benq and an AOC. Haven't had problems with either. By the time 5 years is up, most people would have upgraded to a newer TV. If it does happen to break, just use the CGA against Samsung and they always seem to give you a newer model TV.
