I wonder if Vodafone will increase the rather miserly 2Mpbs upload on their cable plans. I find it limits me sometimes, as a content producer (photographer).

Does anyone know if there is any way to get VDSL with a bigger upload than 10Mbps?

Oh this is nice! Paying a full month of VDSL with the Master Splitter install set me back a bit so welcome this change also from FFM

They have, their DOCSIS3 plans are all 10Mbps.

Assuming you're asking whether it's possible to get faster speeds with a Chorus wholeasale service, at present the answer is no.

I was hoping for a bump to the regular plans, not an upgrade.

I just checked prices on the Vodafone website. They've been charging me $75.95 for 60GB of cable, but the online price is $55.95, with warp speed $85.95. I'll start a thread...

The old DOCSIS platform is now pretty much obsolete and doesn't really have the capacity to support higher upstream speeds. DOCSIS is asymmetrical. if you want faster speeds move to a DOCSSI3 plan.

As pointed out in the other thread you're not being overcharged but the price did drop. If you're not in a term contract and want to change and signa  new term contract you can. This has already been discussed in a number of threads on here.

Looks like existing customers on-contract aren't eligible for this new pricing. Since I've only been connected for a week, I am finding this very un-fair.

I have sent in an enquiry for this. If I'm excluded from the new pricing, then I'm going to be unhappy.

Why would this be a problem for you? You engaged in a contract which at the time you were happy with. FF has engaged these services on your behalf for a set period. They will know their profit on this and will budget accordingly. It's quite possible that existing circuits for them will not be any cheaper.

I wonder if a client asks you to develop an app and you agree a fixed price, if your internet prices dropped and therefore the cost dropped, whether you would call them and offer a discount? I wouldn't think so.

I presume that you were offered some form of incentive (Visible to you or not) for signing 12 month contract, if they break this contract for you, you are essentially double dipping at the expense of the provider.

I am in the same boat, though not with FF, where I have agreed just a week ago to a new 12 month contract. I do not expect, nor would I ask my new provider to adjust the contract price. It's the meaning of contract.

But its only a week into the contract, surely there is provisioning for situations like this?

So what if it's only a week? You signed a contract. If the price of VDSL went UP right now, would you consider it reasonable for FF to approach you a week into the contract to tell you the price of providing the service went up and therefore they are increasing YOUR price? I wouldn't think so.
