mrob210: My neighbour told me that the contracted installer had one particular employee who has done a lot of these bad installations. He has been let go in the interim for these issues - and to be fair the chorus guys seemed generally very pissed off and horrified at the install, and annoyed that they were having to deal with another one of his stuff ups.
He got the sack so hopefully the standard will have improved from now on.
There are a few sayings that go along the lines of "The actions of a few represent the many". I appreciate staff can be an issue, but this trend is a few years old not limited to one roll out or one group of technicians or one contractor.
When at Vodafone I only had good feedback regarding Downer and DOCSIS faults/installs.
