Anarkist:
paul34:
Basically telecom guarantees 1mb connection

This is misinformation just so you're aware.

Yeah there is no guarantee on UBS we all know that., but wholesalefaults have no cause to look into a speed issue when the connection rate is > 1mb/s. Its not a written rule but if you have dealt with wholesale faults directly for a preiod of time then you'll know what the rate is and what they will and will not act on.

@paul, i think you're got all the communication now ;) so you arent missing anything. Lets just wait and see what the port change I believe you're getting will do for you.

Yes insane my phone line rung and hung up so i guess it was being tested.I can understand what you are saying about connections over 1mb but for people like myself i am paying for full speed download and i expect full speed as fast as my line can go.If i get 1mb connection or 2mb connection i would expect to pay for a 2mb connection. It has been 2 1/2 months now stuck on a 2mb connection and i havn't heard anyone say they will refund me some money because i am paying for a full speed but not received it.
I am hoping a port change will fix the problem because it would be nice to have full speed and i haven't actually had adsl2 yet.

Update on internet.
Well i definatly am caught up in a battle between my isp and telecom.Unfortunatly i cant see a resolution in sight any time soon and it looks like this is as far as i can go.But in the last 2 days my internet speeds have dropped and now my max speed is 1400 nationally and internationally.Gee maybe 2000 wasn't bad after all considering my connection right now is 7900kbps.

Insane i just rung them and asked them to send me the emails from telecom but it sounds very bad.It sounded like telecom admitted there was a fault but wasn't prepared to fix it.I will know more once i get the emails and if this is the case thats disgusting service from telecom and they have me over a barrell...It wouldn't be bad if i can downgrade down to a 2mb plan and just pay for that but paying for full speed and getting below 2 now is not good at all.Insane thanks for trying to sort this out.

Sounds like a bit of the 'he says, she says' type deal.
I'd wait for the 'emails' before you jump to any conclusions.

Anarkist this is a tricky situation and untill i see the emails etc i am sitting on the fence as it is.I am not blaming anyone
untill i know the whole story.I just need to know if it is the exchange at fault because if it is all isps will be the same so i will stay put.
