I have received an email said:

New broadband and telephone equipment has been installed in your area. This work has been carried out in order to shorten the length of the copper line that broadband and telephone services are delivered over. Unfortunately, as we have found after investigation you are now getting interference on your line which is causing slower speeds than normal. To rectify this we will move you off of our equipment in the exchange onto the new equipment in the local cabinet.

Does it mean that they are going to transfer my line over to the telecom wholesale network? Will this action fix my problem?

I still worry about the quality of my phone cable out side, beacuse my house is quite old, same as the cables, the phone cable looks quite old, its black colour, never seen this before, but i am sure the wiring in my house is fine.

anyway, thanks for all your generous help.

That is exactly what you are wanting, are you experiencing better speeds now after resetting your modem?

Out of interest, the latest Chorus cabinet migration schedule says the cabinet in my area has been migrated, but on the Telecom site where you check by address says it hasnt yet. Is there any reason why I shouldnt be getting ADSL2+ speeds yet?

Hot dawg, this is excactly what is happening at my flat on Adam St in Greenlane.
50db+ downstream Line attenuation and about max 1.4Mb connection.
We have to connect to the Remuera exchange.

Rang up the other day asking to change plans and be put on our local cabinet but the CSR guy said they couldn't.

Can you help Sounddude?

Cheers

Wade
