crfh3: The only other possibility I can think of is that my Belkin adaptor offeres local services and incoming services. I have matched up my local services (either com 5 or 8) to the active sync, but maybe I should be matching up the incoming services (com 5 or 8) to the active sync com? I am going to uninstall the belkin software and reinstall it, and run through the steps again, but I truly believe that if I can add a bluetooth service called "active sync" on my laptop, then the MDA will pop that service up after I pair the two devices. There's no Bluetooth Service called "ActiveSync". You should match the Incoming Services defined on your Bluetooth (PC) port to ActiveSync.

crfh3: I tried to follow your advice Moray, but I just am confused. What is DUN? Because you had success with this, could you tell me step by step what I am supposed to do. I uninstalled everything, and paired from my computer, but nothing! I still got my MDA believing that only serial port was an option. As I see it, I have to convince the MDA that activesync is a bluetooth option on my computer, but how? Sorry for sounding so elementary and basic, but I couldn't really follow your post (not your fault, but mine). Thanks for your help, and look forward to your next directions. If your Pocket PC can see a serial port on your computer then you are almost there.
