I'm not worried about the App right now, the problem is that I cannot connect to the panel, the panel restricted the access to itself. As the other forum showed, if you login use your master code, it should see all the controls, instead, I only saw the configuration of the module not the panel.

I'm not quite sure what you are expecting. In your first post, there are 3 screenshots. The second screenshot - you will never see as that functionality does not exist in your firmware level.

The third screenshot is all you will be able to see.

If you want to be able to see what is in the second screenshot, you will have to downgrade the firmware somehow, or, buy another ip150 module with the earlier firmware.

Here is my logon with the user code with earlier firmware. If I use the master code, the greyed out options are enabled. Completely different to firmware greater than 4.0.

According to the latest IP150 manual, 2nd screenshot should be the one showing if it is connected to the panel. However, mine is the last one, which does not see the panel at all, I cannot arm/disarm the alarm simply because it does not have the full access. Even with version 4, it should not restrict the information on the web interface, which is one of the feature the IP module provides (as per Paradox website). The guy who sold me the module said he will help me to setup the panel so that the panel knows there is an IP module, but from what I found (manuals, videos), the IP module should be plug-and-play. The babyware is not able to connect to the panel, it keeps timing out as I mentioned in my first post. This is the problem now. I am still waiting for the guy to contact since Monday this week. It's been three days since I contacted him. If I knew I would get such poor support, I would not buy from him at the first place. I may consider to return it if he can't help. What a waste of time and money!

I came across which you may have also: http://zasecure.com/img/cms/Support/IP150%20WAN%20setup.pdf

No mention of the firmware version they where running in the guide.

This guide may refer to the older firmware as it is dated 2013 https://www.southlandsecurity.com.au/paradox-ip150-user-and-installer-guide.html

Thank you very much! Those are exactly what I did, and the weird thing is, after I use the IP Exploring Tool to setup the IP module, I tried to connect to the module by double clicking the IP address from the IP Exploring Tool, the login screen only asks me for the User panel code, not the module password, I don't know why.

hmmm...OK. In this clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98blnMX-E4A there is talk about going in to babyware immediately after pluggingin LAN cable and IP150 to panel. Apologies if you have seen this already...

...On this basis, anyone looking at integrating I wouldn’t recommend paradox any more .

@davidcole what alarm system(s) are you leaning towards for good/easy integration with?

Not sure actually....its not a problem I'm going to have to deal with for a while being on a paradox with the older firmware.

The Konnected.io one interests me....apart from the smarthings integration.  If that went more open (MQTT) I'd consider it.  And I see people on the openhab forums talking about Bosch and DSC....that or running a serial interface to a paradox.

Exactly! That's the reason why I bought it. I don't think there is something you need to do on the panel, it should be plug-and-play! My mate got v1.39, his one is doing what it is supposed to do. But mine crapped out! Not sure if the module is faulty from the beginning.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem.

I however cannot get it to connect in http://www.paradoxmyhome.com as it says is registered but waiting for polling.

When I click on connect it goes straight to my router logon.

Since they sold me the module, they should provide technical support over the phone free of charge.

When I got my 5050 installed recently the installer did some extra pre-configuration for me which he said would allow an IP150 module (with the later FW) to auto call home once it got a DHCP address with absolutely zero additional configuration.

Paradox apparently couldn't handle all the traffic from their IP modules and therefore teamed up with Swann - which is why the change in mobile app and firmware on the modules.

- Out of interest where did you buy your modules from, local or from that Bulgarian ebay reseller who's selling them cheap?

I've got them from alarm warehouse based in Christchurch. I've been contacting with them since it happened. The response from them was unbelievable! I called up several times because they could not resolve my issue. Guess what happened? The guy named Gilbert at alarm warehouse yelled at me over the phone because he said I called them so many times and he thinks I'm too dumb to configure the IP module myself. He said this module requires the installer who has years and years experience. I'm an Engineer, doing electronics and electrical stuff, programming, internet etc every single day, you are telling me that I cannot install your IP module? If it does require years and years experience with alarm, why didn't you ask me if I have them when I purchased the module? He even said we will charge you if we spent more than 15 mins on the phone with you blah blah blah. I can't believe this is how they treat their customer!!!!

Luckily, there is someone who knows what customer service is and means to them. His name is Anthony, who was really helpful. He spent more than 20 mins to guide through the installation and configuration of the IP module on the panel (I've already done the IP assignment and panel connection). Surprisingly, even he, who has years and years experience, cannot figure out why it did not work, we've tried all the possible settings, none would make it work. At the end, he asked me to email him all the screenshots and describe what happened so that he can consult Paradox. So now, who is the dumb one?!

Waited for one day, he emailed me saying that Paradox said starting from v4, the IP module requires Insight Gold app to be able to control the alarm. My options are: swap my module with older version or use Insight Gold app. I've checked the user manual for Insight Gold app, it requires subscription fee to use after one month free trial is over. Hence, I've decided to swap the IP module to an old version one. I should be getting it today, I will see how it goes with the old firmware. I will update the result once I've tested it. Thanks for everyone's suggestion. I really appreciate it.

Normally this happens if you access http://www.paradoxmyhome.com from your home within the same LAN connection, if you do want to try it, use your phone and put it on 4G network instead of your own WIFI. I had the same problem when I access my website which I hosted at home on Raspberry Pi within the same home network. Instead of seeing my website, it directs me to the router login screen. I hope this helps.

Yes, I admit that I was told by people here, I asked the installer, but he keeps telling me no issue with the new firmware until he found that even he could not do it. If you were told by professional installer that the firmware was not the issue, do you believe them?

UPDATE:

Finally, I've got the IP150S module installed. The alarm warehouse guy did swap for me. I've looked up Paradox website, the IP150S has V1.40 firmware and it uses the old PMH server as per description here.

After the installation, no configuration was required to use the module, it is as showed in the YouTube video, a plug-and-play module. Now, I can see all my zones information, status etc as shown in the installation manual that comes with the IP module (also in my original post). Apparently, either Paradox did not update their installation manual or the module V4.20 I got had some issue. Otherwise, it should behalf the same as V1.40 module.

Conclusion:

If you want to get IP module for your alarm system and uses web browser via paradoxmyhome.com to control it, you'd better go for the IP150S module, which ships with V1.40 firmware on it. This module can be used with iParadox app, which gives you all the control over your phone, the only drawback is the lack of push notification, but you can get email notification, which for my case, email push notification is enabled for my Gmail.

Otherwise, with the latest firmware V4.0+, you can use Insight Gold app, which is free for the first month and subscription based later on, if you don't mind paying them monthly fee. The advantage is you get push notification and if you buy the web cam, you can view them in the app too.

Thanks for everyone for your advice, I guess sometimes if your installer does not get enough knowledge from the technical support, you can get a big screw up from them. Have a nice day!

If you have an android phone, I would recommend alarmin from the play store. This gives you basically the same / better features of the insight gold app, without any cost. Note - you have to have <4.0 firmware on your IP150.

I've only just found it within the last month and it's really good.
