Could you please offer the same advice for the Tungsten T3? I get the same error messge (ppp.timeout 0x1231).

Margie, please follow the Bluetooth Guides to the letter. Then check the list of items in the troubleshoot list posted above. It's all in there.

I'm having typical woes with a BT internet access connection. I.m using a Win box and a CLie UX50. I've followed the guides and can get the Ux50 to connect but it will not let me ping anything much less access the internet.

One thing I noticed about the guide is that you say to write down the information in one's network adapter properties but then there is no indication of what to do with that information.

when I review the connection log from the UX50, I get, among many this entry: LCP<-CfgRejBadID.

Then at the bottom it shos the network service name but shows not IP address.

I finally got my BT Internet connection to work with my T3 this weekend. I think the difference is that I disabled most of Norton Internet Security 2005 and now use a Linksys router, Win XP Pro SP 2 firewall, and Norton AntiVirus for protection. I also uninstalled the IBM BT setup before upgrading to XP SP 2, and simply used the SP 2 BT system. That combination and ensuring that the BT setup on the PC had an assigned serial port (COM4 in my case) did the trick.

It does sound like you have a personal software firewall enabled and blocking the Bluetooth stack.

I've locked this thread, since there are many parallel discussion. Please feel free to open another one if you can't find anything related to a firewall on your computer.
