Thanks for all the feedback. I’m looking at heat pump dryers because I can’t easily vent outside + they are cheaper to run than condenser dryers.

Looks like there are quite a few fans of the LG heat pump dryers, so I’m thinking I’ll try to get one of those during the King’s birthday sales this weekend.

The 9kg LG (DVH9-09W) is currently cheaper than the 8kg version (DVH5-08W) at Harvey Norman. They seem to have pretty much the same specs otherwise, so I’ll probably go for the 9kg.

Cheers!

We have a Samsung heatpump drier.

It takes a bit longer than the condenser drier we used to have but if it is using a fraction of the power it really does not matter to me whether I get my socks in 90 minutes or 120.

Generally very impressed with it - and the matching washing machine.

FineWine:

We love our Samsung 9.0Kg Heat Pump Dryer model DV90T7440BT and yes it is connected to the home network via the Smart Things app. It also talks to its mate the Samsung 9.5Kg Front Load Washing Machine WW95T754DBT so the dryer knows what wash load it was (AI tech).

We picked up the same washer and dryer on sale this weekend, all up it was about $2960 from Harvey Norman but we will also get $300 cash back from Samsung. We considered the LG as well but there were quite a few reviews highlighting issues of drying sheets. It's probably fine but ultimately with the cash back it was hard to not go with Samsung.\

Do you know if you can set a time delay on the dryer itself or at least via the app?
