All part of the fun ;-)

I'm predicting 3-4 weeks for delivery off the bat though. US is still at 2-3 weeks and I can't see us jumping their queue.

Question for those that got the phone at Telecom/Vodafone launch, did they have the Apple iPhone 5s cases?

Behodar: Are you guy talking about the 5s? They're on the site now and have been for a while... or am I misunderstanding your post?

They're on the site but unavailable for sale.

I think we're just waiting for those Australians to go for their morning swim, train into work, drink their three-quarters while reading the news on their month-old iPhone 5S, then remember they need to turn on the orders for New Zealand :)

Foose: this is the point where I get tired and annoyed with VF and telecom. Why can't we just line up buy the phone we want. Sick of putting up with their bs on controlling the market.

You mean the Apple BS? They're the ones who have the massive control over carriers dictating what they can and can't do. If you have issues you should be contacting Apple and raising your concerns, not blaming the carriers who have their hands tied behind their backs while being kicked in their head by consumers, all while Apple stands their laughing with glee as the $$ roll in.

Oi! I deleted that about 10 seconds after posting it, after re-reading. Stop being sneaky and quoting deleted posts :)

So irritating.  9am and still nothing.  Wish I hadn't stayed up now, or rather I wish I'd gone to one of the carriers' launch events to make it worthwhile.  If I'd known you could buy outright at Telecom (effectively, if what people are saying about the end-anytime contracts is true) I'd have done that for sure.  Niggly.

Since the Apple sales line opens at 9 AM, I called the Apple 800 number.
The very friendly guy was surprised that the phones aren't available yet. He said extra people had been brought in to handle the expected increased volume and that he had no idea when the iPhones would be on the site or why they weren't.
He indicated that there'd be a two to three week delay irrespective of size or colour choice.

Can anyone confirm whether Telecom are still selling these instore on Open Term? Tried calling my local store (Sylvia Park) but no answer. Wanting to find out before I give in and order from Apple direct.
