I've been a very happy snap then 2 degrees customer for many years. I use it frequently for work, entertainment (both nz based and overseas streaming services using a dns service), downloading torrents (linux isos of course) and gaming. All work flawlessly in my experience. There are cheaper options out there but when I've done research in the past the only one I've ever seriously considered was big pipe.

My only issue is landline, and how good Skinny router is to HG659B, though I believe can configure the B to work on Skinny if not happy with their one.

My understanding is that Skinny is just as good as Spark now for network and CGNAT is no more.

i was with Snap when the support was so good that you got a rep answering the phone after 4-5 rings , its been a while since those days and the support did drop after becoming 2degrees but the service they provided was always good and i never had much of a need to call support, i have left them now and gone to stuff fibre , only due to the fact they gave me 6 months of unlimited fibre for $40 a month, still have a soft spot for 2degrees and will go back if they become competitive again on price , they were always the leader in pricing not so much now.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

I say it again - price isn't everything.

2degrees and Spark invest in their network so can justify the price as both networks are great. Stuff Fibre is pretty good too but I feel 2degrees price is justified as it is a premium product. It is only $5/mo more from the big players per month ($105.00) for Gigabit.

If I was going to pick between MyRepublic ($99.00) or 2degrees ($105.00) to be honest I would pick 2degrees here in a heartbeat.

$6/mo is worth it to me to have a Static IP, IPv6 (Static also) along with open peering and the ability to use my own router ;)

You couldn't pay me enough to go anywhere near Vodafone for landline broadband. Plenty of much better options!

I agree. I'm leaving them at the weekend and will never go there again. Their customer service richly deserves it's appalling customer satisfaction ratings. There's a reason they offer heavy joining bonuses. We'll be moving my mother and aunt and uncle at the earliest opportunity too. They screw up everything they touch.

A bit late to the party but I couldn’t resist a thumbs up for 2degrees.
We’ve been with them for years (when it was Snap) previously on ADSL and VDSL for the last 2 years. The only problems have ever been with the underlying Chorus wires in the road.
Compelling features have been the IPv6 service as standard, static IP, ability to use third party DNS and the bonus of discounts for SuperGold and being mobile customers. They also let us have the half price for the first year deal even though we were existing customers.
Certainly agree with other posters that the service has dropped off since Snap but we’ve not had to call them of late so it’s not been a problem.
The only gripe (minor) was that they wanted to charge extra for the VoIP line when we moved and took us off our legacy plan. We dumped it then and moved to 2talk, also rock solid.......

I've only been with them for 2 weeks (fibre) and 3-4 months (mobile). Have had to speak to them a few times about the mobile contract (billing issues) which have been resolved but if I'm brutally honest, could have been dealt with better. Fibre support has been great. The previous owner managed to move with the power supply for the ONT and a new one arrived the next morning, I had some issues with speed (or so I thought) which were ironed out swiftly and turned out to be largely my fault, which I was expecting to be the fobbed-off answer I got, however, they took it seriously and have thoroughly investigated for me which has ended up with the same conclusion (my fault) but with the satisfaction in knowing that I wasn't just 'fobbed-off'. I did genuinely think there was an issue, as did they and they have gone beyond what I would have expected to investigate. By comparison, a few years ago when the ADSL connection inexplicably dropped, vodafone made me change routers, filters (I wasn't using one as we had no phone - ADSL), plug a phone in (we were on naked ADSL), wait a few days to see what happened, get the wiring in the (new) house checked which had been working fine for the preceding 3 months and say I'd pay some exorbitant fee for a call out if they found nothing. When they came out they found that their engineer had managed to unplug our house at the cabinet. They also forgot to apologise for their error too.
