Niel: Men can do only one thing at a time... but that one thing we do very good ;-).

You can speak Engrish very good?

Oh "well", saw that when I posted it but could not be bothered fixing it.  English is my second language.  The Afrikaans for "well" and for "good" is "goed".  Figured many people here would not notice.  Last night on Dirty Jobs (Discovery, not the other type...) it was about shark viewing in South Africa.  Had a good laugh at their Engrish!

You can never have enough Volvos!

old3eyes: No. I bet they rubbed their hands with glee when this was announced. I sure know I would if I was selling mobiles and hands free gear..

So you seriously think that Vodaofne and Telecom are happy that their users are restricted in using their handsets while driving? If anything, they will lose money, not make it....

I find your theory very odd...

PaulBags:

I would think it would be more dangerous to drive with all those damn cords hanging around my neck, trying to strangle me.

That happened to me once, one of the scariest moments in my life. Stalled at the top of a loop in an airplane, went into negative G and my headset cord floated over my head, pulled out at 3.5 G's and my headset cord snapped back straight into my neck and was strangling me while I tried to keep pulling.

exportgoldman: If only it were illegal it would hammer home how dangerous it is, I've had a crash before because of TXTing...

Shame on me but I still do it! Shocking.

If you'ce had a crash as a result of txting and still continue to do so I can't see that a law change will stop you; hope you stay away from Chch :-)

lol, thanks for the amusing reading! Just buy a $99 blue tooth sunvisor thing. (but not those black nasty cellnet and other brand ones with the white circle around the silver speakergrille one) mine's a nokia one, came with a free car-charger too.

Those cheap ones will only do a single phone at once, you can have several paired with it, but when one is connected, the others cannot.

Besides, the issue is handheld phones, go to a dollar store, get a vent-clip holder for your phone and you are legal since its not handheld. Text/tweet away in the holder ;)
