Make sure you download the latest drivers from the NVidia site rather then installing the Gigabyte ones. NVidia are always inproving the performance of their GPU's so is worth running the latest stable driver.

Well there is good news and bad news. The good news is that there is NO bad news, it works perfectly so you can add the Gigabyte 8400GS Nova-T-500 HD on i7 with Windows 7 to the happily works together list. Now just have to start reading the postings about EPG's and also get a capture card for video/ audio to get my old sky SD box and its EPG into the system. Then I should have something that really rocks!!

Just been reading about people scraping the EPG off various transponders. I assume that means they have a satellite tuner to do this. Is the sky EPG available for Windows 7 Media Center for those using DVB-T for freeview and an actual sky box with AV input from an internet source? i an indending to change channel on the sky box from media center via a IR blaster. I have only heard this is possible and haven't tried it :-/

By far the easiest way to get EPG data is use something like the Big screen EPG software. It does require a bit of reading and following directions to get it configured but once done you can forget about it. Sit back and enjoy.

Are there any fish hooks in doing AV input on a seperate card as well as an existing NovaT 500 tuner card. Or issues with IR blaster controlling sky boxes? I was going to get one of the Hauppauge, possibly sat cards, that happen to have AV in. I'd rather ask first than waste time and money.

Just starting to read the big screen software stuff will see how I get on here.

Wintv 7 HD still has issues: At present if you own the CD 1.1B version which includes the AC3, HE-AAC/LATM codecs & H.264 mpeg 4 codecs for NZ freeview; you will then need the latest wintv 7 HD version 1.1D upgrade from the hauppage uk site. You are then required to re-install the codecs from the 1.1B CD to get HD working in your new file directory for version 1.1D. eg locate the SMD folder from the original CD and copy & paste the  HCWSMD08.exe file & run it after you install version 1.1D. This will get it working in Vista/windows 7.

I am not using WinTV7 at all even though I think it's installed. I am using Windows Media Center on Win7 beta only. This seems to be working fine. I purchased an HVR-2200 card to get the AV input. I have managed to get this working with the IR blaster plugged into the Hauppage media center remote IR. Next step is the EPG.

Are you saying I need V1.1D of the Hauppage software to get the EPG bits working using BigSource? I haven't tried any of this EPG stuff just yet, haven't had enough hours in the day :-)

No Acrux I am merely trying to keep on topic about Wintv 7 HD on vista x64 & win7 as there are probably New Zealander's out there having problems with the software in present times.
