My sister purchased this phone a month or two back, and mentioned to me today it was on sale for $100 (Telecom, NL...). Great value at that price, and it appears to be a superior phone in some ways to its replacement (better main camera; a front camera included...).

Anyway, I raised this matter (850 versus 900 for 3G) with her when she was looking at purchasing it, as she's with 2 Degrees. She contacted a number of retailers that all swore to her that it supported both - after I questioned her on this reply she went back and asked again to be sure. This was in DSE and somewhere else (NL I think).

Do we have access to any definitive proof either way? (I doubt my sister has tried 3G in a non-main urban area.)

There's also the Huawei Y320 which is on sale for $130 at NL - IIRC this is the replacement model, but has 900/2100 (ie, for Vodafone/2 Degrees); note earlier comment re some poorer specs.

Huawei's site indicates there are two hardware variants - one with 3G on 900 & 2100, one with 3G on 850, 1900, & 2100.

ImQrisp: Well, i already have a Nokia 100, and ive had it for a year, but i want to upgrade to a better phone, and i have found this one for a good price, so will this be a good phone for texting and calling considering its a Telecom but i'm using soing to be using my Vodafone sim?

It'll be fine for you then, you can also get apps like 'WhatsApp' for even more texting

WhatsApp doesn't load on the Y300 on reboot..  You have to do it manually..
