freitasm:

I didn't say "2degrees". AFAIK the LG G2 is sold in New Zealand through retail but not through mobile operators. So there isn't a "2degrees version" or a "Telecom version".

Oh when I search for LG G2 on Harvey norman it only returns me a 2degrees one. And I couldn't find a LG G2 on Telecom (and vodafone) website as well so i thought there is only a 2degrees version.

+ the fact that I haven't been to a Harvey norman store for years) so my bad i didn't know there is actually a telecom version.

But then it is even more strange as telecom do have a 4G netowrk now

I didn't say there is a Telecom version. I am saying THERE ISN'T ANY TELCO VERSION.

The LG G2 is sold directly from LG through Harvey Normal. It's not customised by any local telco.

Oh right. got you!

hm.. I understand the phone is exclusive to HN. But why their website only lists a 2degrees version LG G2 :/

http://www.harveynorman.co.nz/phone-and-gps/mobile-phones    (click LG)

I couldn't find a non operator branded version listed anywhere

No idea - Harvey Norman is not really an "authority" in mobile phones. I know I was told by the LG National Marketing Manager during his visit to Wellington that this phone was not being distributed through telcos and had no telco customisations.

If you put a Vodafone 4G sim in it and go to settings the LTE option will apear.

My one had a Telecom 4G sim and 4G wasnt working, there wasnt even the option to turn it on, but i changed it for a Vodafone sim just to see if it made a difference and sure enough when i went to the network settings the LTE option was there where it wasnt before.

Same exact thing happened with my Note 3 (N9005), No 4G with Telecom 4G sim but activated with Vodafone 4G sim.

Both phones imported.

With the LG G2 you can flash the stock EUR firmware on it which will give you the option but im not sure what it does for your warranty.

Oh and one thing to note is the camera is TERRIBLE in low light situations. It takes ages to focus. In datlight its great, Note 3 still better in camera department.

Interesting because I used a Vodafone 4G SIM on that device all along.

Depends where your one was imported from on the version aswell. Most have SEA firmware others have EUR. Which did yours have?

Likewise. Have a Vodafone 4G Sim and yet no LTE option?

I'd guess that would be because Harvey Norman offer store credit for 2d contract sign-ups.

Will be swapping out a workmates VF SIM tomorrow morning(all going to plan). It's from a S4 with working 4G so will be a quick test to see if that works. Was too busy to get into any Telco shops today

This mornings experiment.

Functioning SIM card removed and placed in G2. No 4G icon at all, no 4G or LTE icon in network settings menu. My card placed in S4, 4G signal present.

Need to try the same experiment with Telecom although it sounds unlikely if Freitasms done it already :(
