simansez: This mornings experiment.

Functioning SIM card removed and placed in G2. No 4G icon at all, no 4G or LTE icon in network settings menu. My card placed in S4, 4G signal present.

Need to try the same experiment with Telecom although it sounds unlikely if Freitasms done it already :(

Type in dialer:

3845#*802#,then the secret menu will come up...Then:

1. Go to LTE-Only
2. Modem Settings
3. RAT Selection
4. Select GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto or what ever selection you want

Try that. See if it's actually enabled.

That will definitely work just it changes back after every reboot. Pain in the butt.

Yeah the one downside. But how often do you reboot your phone? Think I've done it once in 3 weeks...

Ok i went and bought a G2 from parallel imported yesterday.

Love the phone, it's so responsive, and feel slightly smaller than my current 5" phone, build quality is quite good for a plastic phone.

Mine has the SEA firmware and yes I couldn't use 4G with my new 4G telecom sim card.

Then i followed Kopkiwi's suggestion and try turn on 4G from the secret manual and yes it works!
So yeah at least i know the phone's 4G works

Not really want to flash the phone (yet) so hopefully with the kitkat update 4G will be enabled by default?

Well, the phone started misbehaving when I got a decent chance to use it. Chrome and a couple of apps got a little buggy and my data usage went through the roof(who would have thought? Lol)so I restarted the phone and went back to normal 3G/HSPA.

To be honest, other than the speedtest going nuts it felt much the same.

I find Chrome as a whole to be utterly useless on mobiles. Slow, unresponsive, erratic when it comes to scroll and pinch/zoom
