Sig:

I realise this is a bit of an old thread but can anyonje confirm if the 7's have been updated here in NZ to work with wifi calling and all the rest?

My Pixel 7 on GrapheneOS with Spark and 2degrees doesn't have VoWifi but does has VoLTE and 5g.

Is this the same for others then? Wifi calling is essential and im hearing it might be ready to roll on the 8 but im scared of the price

However My current phone is from spark. It's the worst phone with the worst updates I've ever had. Spark promised it had volte but neglected to say they didn't support the phone on volte. They still don't support it but a Google update after two years of ownership  made it work regardless.

A note to the wise, Spark is not responsible for OS updates - the manufacturer is.

Best get a Samsung then IMHO, they're fully supported in NZ. My wife's S22 has VoWifi able to be used on Skinny. The A series is cheaper and quite decent.

Pixel 8 / S23 will probably be similar prices.

Pixel 7a on Spark has VoWifi when using the official Android 14 just released.

Tested working

Doesn't work on 2Degrees even when trying the Shizuku & Pixel IMS stuff sadly.

Looks like I might have to move to move to Spark

Maybe you should call 2Degrees and see if they need to provision your sim or something. The 2D wifi SMS (spark don't have) could make that worthwhile, if it works..
