networkn: Can you boot into recovery foo?

Okay, giving that a go now - is it volume up, home and power all at once?

Okay, I'm in recovery mode - next step would be simply "reboot system now" or "wipe data/factory reset"?

Try wiping the delvik cache in advanced... And also the other cache.

If not you will have to do a wipe/factory reset and load your contacts etc again from gmail.

Hmmm, okay, the reboot system now option doesn't help. I guess it's a wipe data/factory reset. In terms of doing this, what are the implications - I don't have any photos/video stored on the internal memory (all backed up via dropin).

I wonder what caused the problem in the first place...installed three new games over the weekend and the minus.com app, so perhaps one of those caused the issue?

First reboot of my phone since I installed them. All thoughts/suggestions appreciated!

Okay, will select the "wipe cache partition" option.

I haven't rooted my phone nor flashed non-stock f/w.

Alas, no luck with that. How do I access "Advanced"?

If this is just a standard phone with no root or custom ROM, then I am suspecting you should remove the external SD card and try again to reboot?

Yep, it's a non rooted, no custom phone.

I've removed the external SD card and rebooted with no success.

Might be a warranty call, is it a NZ phone or imported?

Imported via Electron World, so I guess I would contact them in the first instance. I haven't yet wiped the data and done a factory reset which I guess is my next step.

Just waiting to see if anyone has any other suggestions before I do that.

Not a lot of downside, unless you don't have a backup. I can't think of anything else.

No backup - but using the Android web marketplace I can reinstall everything. I really should have rooted my phone and installed titanium backup.

Oh well, no big loss assuming a wipe and reset fixes everything.

lyonrouge: Is there anyone out there with an un-rooted Telecom S II and a Exchange Server 2010 backend that can confirm is SMS Sync (see image) is enabled. I've seen this on a rooted S, but wanting to see if this is a out-of-the-box feature of the S II (third party implemenations come with "challenges").

Confirmed that this is available in S II, Sync Notes is not included, but I'm only seen that implemented by TouchDown.

S II Sync SMS

Note: this is a paralell imported, non-rooted, S II, once mine arrives from Telecom I can verify that they have not removed this functionality.

Sorry to hear you're having issues - assuming the factory reset works, I'd suggest you find and download the firmware it's running (if you're not sure how to do this, dial *#1234# and post the results here), and consider re-flashing it via Odin if you have further issues. . . . .And yes, rooting and backing up with with TB etc is very handy!
