There won't be much in the way of overclockable kernels for a while. People won't be able to add that to kernels until Samsung release ICS kernel source code, and that'll happen when they've got a ROM ready to release. I'd say you're looking at March/April.

And why bother overclocking? Underclocking I can understand, as it can help to save battery, but overclocking serves almost no practical purpose.

I've been running FixeROM since last night, and other than some issues with the Contacts app it's working quite well. I might try replacing the Samsung email with an AOSP version, as I like the new gmail app look.

@Nzgeek yes that is true they wil not create new kernels till they release the source.
But Overclocking has greatly improved the overall performance of my S2.
And although the first ports of ICS are stable and almost a daily I don't think there are enough tweaks and improvements to ICS to warrant updating.
My S2 can outperform the Note which is factory released at 1.4.Ok so its only on GB but there is a port in dev for the note.
Additionally overclocking can negate the need to upgrade your device as it will perform as well if not better than the newer releases.(Except if you Overclock them too)

@Neets.I have tried 3 different ICS ROMs from Sammfirmware the latest is the most stable very few FCs and it is an officialRom so doesn't it won't activate your counter.
however I still don't believe that ICS is good enough to warrant using as a daily.
There is already talk about Jellybean and whether it will be made available for handsets.
SamMobile's roms require odin so you need to be a little savy although there are plenty of how to guides at places like android advices. Modaco and of course XDA..
LP2 is the latest offering from Samm ,make sure you choose an open CSC and baseband.

You really can't go wrong if you follow instructions

Happy Flashing

New CheckROM v6 is highly recommended.  I have an i9100T so I have flashed back the original KG2 modem.  Seems like there have been improvements in modems for standard i9100 model but not for those of us with i9100T :(

I didnt think that XXLP6  modem was for i9100T.  I have tried other modems that are for the  i9100 on my i9100T but they have not worked well.  No signal in some areas.  Do you have a list of i9100T modems?  I have been using this list:

I've had wifi issues ever since trying ICS roms.. Found ICS doesnt seem to play well with WPA/WPA2 encryption. I've ended up dropping back to WEP in order to correct these issues. It's working fine now, but not comfy with only WEP.

I've seen others commenting also about the connecting/authentication loop with wifi but no solutions.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've been running on the XXLPH-based WanamLite 8.6 for the last 24 hours or so, and I can say I'm quite pleased with it. Stability is good, and I haven't experienced any FCs or random reboots yet. It's got a number of vanilla ICS apps in it, rather than the Samsung ones, and others have been skinned to look more like vanilla ICS.

I'm also using the Apex launcher, rather than TouchWiz, Nova or Trebuchet. I've decided on Apex because it offers a combination of features from Nova and Trebuchet, plus some of its own, and it just feels nice to use. TouchWiz feels so outdated it's not funny.

At this rate, I'm highly considering moving to CM9 when it comes out. I don't miss the TouchWiz launcher, email app or gallery app one bit. I doubt there's much else I'll miss if I dump Samsung's bloat.

Damager: Found ICS doesnt seem to play well with WPA/WPA2 encryption.

My router (a Netcomm NB9Plus4Wn) is set to use WPA/WPA2-PSK, and I'm using WiFi just fine with this rom. Same goes for the recent model Linksys access point we've got at work. The only problem I've got is that the kernel seems to have a fairly long WiFi scan time, so it can take a couple of minutes to pick up a signal once it's in range.

What router are you using? It might be one that's a bit fussy with WiFi devices (e.g. one of several older Linksys models).

I liked Apex as well. Just flashed Remix 9.2 but keen on Apex so will just pull the apk out of another ICS rom.

I have a D Link N 150 wireless router and it serves 3 laptops with no problems. On GB (FluxMod last rom) I had no problems with WPA/WPA 2 and it would connect instantly. Flashed my GB nandroid backup and again 2 days, the connection was absolutely perfect. Instantaneous connection. Back to ICS and get this issue. Tried some fiddling with the settings on WPA/WPA2 and no luck, so have decided to settle on WEP to end the headache!

There's a thread on XDA about the launcher, so you don't have to go fishing around for it.

I wonder if it's something in ICS itself, or something in the new modem versions. If you feel like playing a bit more, you could flash on an older modem version (e.g. KI4) and see if that allows you to connect properly.

It's also possible that there's a security setting on your router that the Samsung ICS kernels don't like. I seem to recall that there are 2 kinds of encryption available on WPA/WPA2: TKIP and AES. Many routers and wireless chipsets support both, but some only support one or the other. It's possible that the kernel only supports TKIP and your router was using AES, or vice versa. Sadly, it doesn't look like you router allows you to change the security type. (D-Link routers compare poorly to most other brands when it comes to configuring them.)
