tocker: Now running:

Android Version:
4.0.4
Baseband version:
I9000XXJVU
Kernel version:
3.0.8-Semaphone_ICS_1.1.1s
Build number:
IMM76I ICS333-RC2

tocker: Does anyone know what the biggest battery you can get for one of these suckers is in NZ?

I don't know if the others have picked up on this, but you've got the original Galaxy S (GT-I9000), not the Galaxy S II (GT-I9100). The baseband version (I9000XXJVU) and ROM (ICS333) both confirm this.

Try posting again in the main Galaxy S thread and you'll probably get a bunch more answers.

Does anyone else have issues with the touch screen after unlocking? Mine doesn't register me putting in my unlock pattern properly, it acts like I've taken my finger off it. Wondering if this is common or if mines faulty.

Cheers,
Ben

No issues for me Ben, although it seems the latest ROM I am on isnt as sensitive to touch, but I dont know if that is just perception or real.

Is it charging at the time? Charging often causes disturbances to how the screen registers touch, particularly when plugged into a third party charger.

Not charging, just when its freshly unlocked it has issues registering and I have to lock it again before going through the unlock pattern.

Cheers for that, not rooted though and don't want to because of warranty paranoia :P

You can root and then unroot and no one is the wiser.

Everyone keeps telling me that...

Is there any way that they could know though? Like if you dropped your phone and needed a replacement and you couldn't unroot it yourself? or any possible scenario that this could affect your warranty/insurance claims?

Yeah I will do, just raising questions before I think about that.

If you send it to get fixed and they find there is nothing wrong with it they charge you. Also I will be without a phone during. Its a pain too ya know.

Hey everyone,

So I have been running the CM9 roms and lately been running into problems for the last few nightlies. Wanting to try out a new rom and I've seen people on here talking about Wanam and Checkrom. What do you guys recommend?

Wanam is pretty good, so are the Omega Samsung and AOKP based roms. I've used all three recently, as well as CM9. I'd happily use any of them again.
Checkrom passed the buck on ICS, not wanting to produce an ICS rom until JKay's mod was released.

Mines does that too, at random times.  If it happens, make it sleep with the power button, then unsleep and try again, usually fixes it.  Bit of a hassle though

Cheers Lee. Will look into Omega.

On a side note, I downloaded Wanam last night and tried to tweak the rom without unzipping, wanted to get rid of touchwiz and replace it with Trebuchet but for some reason it wasn't letting me delete the touchwiz apk.

Any ideas anyone?
