networkn: Ok thanks very much.
Which do you recommend. I actually like the SPB 3D Launcher myself.

I just  use Apex coz it simple and easy to use and looks sharper than TW. You need pro if you want more features. eg unread count notifications
SPB looks great but IMHO it is too busy and uses more battery.

Actually re your battery life claim, I am averaging around 2.2 days per run on a battery, a while ago I got 3 days 4 hours and that was with SPB which has been my launcher of choice for over a year. I debate it using more battery till the cows come home.

Obviously if you have notifications and widgets enabled up the wazoo, it might, but default, it uses next to nothing.

well downloaded Alliance (formely Darky's) LPD Rom last night. Forgot how nice their roms are, although not as glam as Indie's Omega it certainly is smooth and seems a lot quicker. Not sure on battery life yet but haven't as yet been impressed with ICS but that maybe just me. Ficeto's Kernals certainly are good and I'm glad to be back.

Downloaded Jkay's paid app from play store ($3.30 NZ) and it works a treat, also glad to be using jkays mod again it certainly helps a lot.

madspaz: anyone using CM9? If so, what kernels is everyone using? Just upgraded to ICS after CM7 and Siyah.  But I see not many people using Siyah but Abyss now?

Yeah, NEAK 2.05 isn't too bad either, but Abyss is just amazing IMO.

Hey Nofam.

Which is the latest abyss kernel? I see you are using 2.9 but it shows 1.2 as the latest? too bad I cant read Italian?

Yeah, 1.2 is the latest - the dev started reversioning when he merged his AOSP/MIUI/AOKP sources with his Samsung ones.  Give it a shot - it's good gear!

Had the same problem. SO I downloaded 1.2 I think that the new 1.0 was a complete rebuild of the old Abyss.
The abyss 1.2 is working very well so I recommend downloading it.

ps. Nofam you beat me by 3mins. Darn slow two finger typing

I've been watching the thread for some time now, but haven't yet tried it. It looks like a great bit of work though doesn't it?

I'm actually waiting for Vertumus's next ICS theme then I'll likely go back to stock (with JKay's mod). I've been trying far too many roms lately and need a little stability. ;)

Using (abyssplug +sio) I get good idle and small usage battery life but once you get onto the downloads, video or long term camera use it begins to drain very fast (94% to 14% just over an hour). Might try one of the later siyah versions to see the difference although im sceptical after the one bad egg.

Ive used version 1.0 and I did enjoy the various modes but once you are done with the tablet/hybrid option its basically a phone with dpi overdrive... still a few bugs and kinks to work out before its a daily stable.

Wondering how those with the T model are handling the I9100TDOLP4 Modem, I am getting great speeds in the CBD but not so great reception, ive heard good things about telstra's DVLP3 and vodafone's DULP4. Anyone tried those to compare if not I will give it a go.

Cheers mate.  Will give it a go tonight. Got the Siyah one to try, CM9+Siyah = crap battery.  You can literally see the % numbers dropping while using the phone lol.

I was on Omega BB for a while but have gone back to Alliunace Rom (formerly darkyrom) its much more responsive and battery is good for what I use in comparison to Omega but sorta miss the Omega theme it was pretty cool.

...Have a look on TradeMe for the genuine Samsung 2000mAh one that comes with the back to match.

... This is what you want but these guys are out of stock last time I checked

Garrrr! Thanks.

I foolishly went and did my own shopping trying to find this extended battery, returned to post my discoveries, and then discovered that you had actually included a link!
I toddled off to the Adriatica site and found the product for less than 3rd party one i'd found anyway!

Thanks again, i'm off to order.

edit: Supplier emailed me back within a couple of minutes of my order to let me know they were out of stock, and whilst the expected delivery date was mid-june, it might not be entirely reliable.  They asked if I still wanted to process the order or go elsewhere.  Impressed with the level of communication, i happily told them I would wait.

I've got one that I am going to sell. Genuine Samsung, a month old, unpacked to check it out but never used. I got it so it was ready for a trip I am taking later this week but ended up grabbing an SGS3 yesterday.

I also have the battery charger/stand. Same thing - unpacked but never used. The charger/stands for the SGS2 don't close flat when the extended battery is in them but they are still worthwhile as you can keep one battery charging while the other is in use.

DM me if you are interested. I'm looking at about $65 for the two.
