IMO, speedtest.net is generally accepted as the defacto standard...

They have an app on the play store...

Downloaded it and I got 1.15Mbps download and 0.94 upload. Thats pretty pants

I am running Baseband XXLS8
Build - TheByani Stock XWLSD

Also try an app called "Network Signal Info"... gives you a good overview of what your mobile signal is actually doing... reception strength, network type (ie. EDGE, GPRS, HSDPA etc)...

That way you'll get a better idea of what network connection you are getting... and what the reception is like...

Its free... you just need to put up with the ads ;)

Installed that and it goes from H+, to HSPA+ every now and then. HSDPA says in brackets 7.2mb and H+ 21Mbs

TBH, 1+ Mbps seems a little low if you are getting H/H+ connections...

but don't forget that those limits are theoretical maximums... you need to factor in Cell Tower Load, Network throttling by carrier etc etc...

lol i hope you didn't believe that :) my guess is you went from 1Mbps to 1Mbps :)

My first Post on Geekzone!

I9100T, Telecom XT, Ellerslie Auckland. I'm running 4.1.2 XXLS8 and speedtest result 6384 kbps download and 876kbps upload.

I set my Network mode to WCDMA only and also disabled fast dormancy.

K1000716: I am now in the unfortunate position of having a nasty little shatter over my S2's menu button. It's still quite usable with a screen protector to protect from the jagged glass but while I can't get it fixed for at least a couple of weeks there is now way it can stay like this for very long.

Has anyone purchased replacement screen/digitiser assemblies? I'm looking at different options on Ebay or Amazon as most NZ places are a good deal pricier. Are there chinese knock-offs of the OEM parts or are all the parts around actually OEM? I'd hate to get one only to discover it's got a crappy screen or something like that.

Sorry to hear the bad news. Cant recommend any for you. Except make sure that if you get from ebay its in the right section eg. replacement phone parts. As a lot of the fakes and con listings in ebay arn't in the correct listing.

Just ran it again this morning and got 1.97 down and 0.91 up.

the type of connection makes no impact on the speed.

the speed is determined by the signal strength and how congested it is (number of people divided by bandwidth of the tower)

I have had H+ and 50kbps down .... in a swimming pool ...

Hi Folks, New to this but looking for someone that has rootted the i9100T that apparently has the I9100TDOLP4 Baseband version and some posts say to check the Build number which on my device states IML74K.DOLP7 so looking for the Matches Rooted Kernel. Also am running this i9100 on the Vodafone network and see some conversation about the best modem for this machine, Do I need to worry about this as I"m running on Vodafone? Obviously I am looking for someone thats been there, done that for this Model if possible ?
