Is there a list of which sports Sky will broadcast in 4k with the new box?
Cheers

Considering its Satellite still I believe no sports will be in 4K.
I think the "4K-HDR ready" on the advertising is more for apps such as disney+, apple+ and netflix etc
Panasonic 65GZ1000, Onkyo RZ730, Atmos 5.1.2, AppleTV 4K, Nest Mini's, PS5, PS3, MacbookPro, iPad Pro, Apple watch SE2, iPhone 15+
Really? Ridiculous lol - if thats the case Ill just stick to Sky Sports Now I guess.
Sport won't be 4K until Sky have 4K broadcast capability with combined upgrade of outside broadcast trucks (not owned by Sky) in 2025.
Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

SSN is heavily compressed though, hence the weird artifacts around golf balls and so on.
4K upgrade is international feeds, studio, content delivery, boxes and satellite. Estimate for 3rd party to upgrade outside broadcast trucks was $50M and Sky openly said they couldn't afford that. May cost another $50M to do studio infra and CDN.
Typically they wait 3 years to upgrade boxes before upgrading service, sat changes in 2024 I think, so on target for end of 2025.

What stops Sky Sports Now from offering streaming in 4k where they could get in from other sources. RL in Australia, Premier League in England, F! is all available in 4k in other countries. Most people can get 4k streaming from Apple TV Plus and Netflix so we know it can be done. Are there technology reasons why it is harder to stream live events as opposed to movies and TV shows?
Some people might even be willing to pay more to get 4k streams. But to not have the option in 2023 seems out of touch.

Bit off topic but this video does a good job explaining live 4k sports:

Is the picture quality with these new boxes in 1080p at least? These current boxes only do 1080i.
Raw format of the satellite streams is 1080i.
