My SKY HDi freezes and then I need to reset the decoder.

I find the problem happens if I am recording 2 channels and watching a 3rd using live pause.
And if I have a show due to record after those two channels.  The mysky unit just cannot handle it and spazzes then freezes.

Called the contact centre, but help was not helpfull.

Still occurs.

I understood that you could only record 2 programs at once? If you're using Live Pause on a 3rd program then that means that 3 are being recorded and could well be the cause of your problem?

Depending on your pre/post recording settings if you have programmed a recording straight after two current recordings, then your machine is trying to record 3 programs at once (i.e 2 overlapping 1). Which it can't do.

Dingbatt is right. The problem almost certainly lies with your pre/post recording settings. You cannot record 3 programmes at the same time which is what you are effectively asking MySky to do.

I have not had a freeze for months (since last s/w update) and then it happened once the other night :O My settings are on auto and I don't know when it froze because it was frozen when I turned on the TV during the News.

It still happens to me. No clear patterm yet. When I have 2 programs recording, I dont use the pause functionality on the 3rd channel I'm watching.
Will try to establish some pattern.

Will keep you'll posted.

I had this problem for quite a while until I removed the Myskyhdi from the cabinet under the TV so it was not gettnig too hot and so far NO lockups. Give it a try.

Happened again on Wednesday night (29/7), during Fair go. Seems to happen on Wednesdays for me, either during the TV1/3 News, Close Up/Campbell Live or Fair Go. That'll teach me for watching Fair Go, I just watch it for a laugh. Also seems that if your hard drive is quite full it is worse.
