ok whenever i record a movie or a tv programme while watching it just freezes
also when i fast forward or rewind a programme the +mins goes 2 4 6 for example then freezes and goes to +0 mins i rang sky they gave me the usual routine reset wipe the smart card etc
they said they will send a technician and if its a sky fault its free if not then there is a call out fee of $40
has anyone had similar problems and or solutions to this fault
i asked them like straight up replace it but they said a technician needs to find the source of the probem first
any ideas

The biggest problem with MySKYHDI I've seen is overheating. Place the MySkyHD box outside the Cabinet for a few days and see if the problem goes away. If it does get better ventalation for the Cabinet (ie remove the back from it etc or a like).

(or you may already have it with good ventalation)

Mine is not in a cupboard and I get this rarely. The picture freezes but the minute counter continues counting and when I press play it plays normally. A bit of a pain as we can't tell where in the programme we are at. It has happened 3 times in the last year. It was fixed once with a standard reset and twice with a full reset (lost all the programs).

Cheers Matt

Odd nhad only one problem with our myskyhdmi and ring them up and they came and replAced the box for a new one. And after the new one no problems at all and the new box was put in before new updates so it's very very odd

yeh this problem just occured like the last 2-3 weeks. its like sitting on a shelf below our tv which is well ventilated

ok the sky guy came right and said the problems during recordings for channels 1 2 and 3 are not the fault of sky.(they dont supply these channels whatever that means) he also said that if there are high number of recordings this can effect the playback of recordings then he deleted all the recordings by going through the housekeeping function and like wiped the hard drive clean but he was pretty cool the technician said sky customer service like peole you speak with by phone have no idea what they are talking about and like take the easiest route to a problem even if this is not the solution. he also said that sky upgrades there software and do not give any notification to customers of the upgrade cos it may only effect a small handful of customers. so yeh there was no charge for what he did which was just wipe the hard drive clean and said in 24 hours recordings should resume to normal without any of the problems i have encounted so heres hoping he is right.....if it doesnt work man they better replace it

i've got similar thing happening. i reckon it's overheating but that's just a hunch. worst when trying to view a HD recording or watching something else while an hd program is being recorded. sounds like they are speced high enough for what they claim to do.
