Hi there everyone!
I've recently found an interest in photographing. This interest kind of came about in conjunction with the steady addiction of watching travel vloggers on Youtube, following awesome photography accounts on Instagram and just a general interest in the outdoors here in NZ (accessible) and overseas (where I want to explore and document via photo/video)
At the moment I take pictures on my Samsung s5, which has a surprisingly decent camera with detail for an older android phone. I enjoy the editing process in Instagram (I know it is probably nooby and extremely basic but I love messing with a picture I have taken to make it into something different/more epic but also retaining the reality of the photo).
Basically, I like to hike and explore mountains by myself and I enjoy our NZ wildlife and amazing landscape and want to document and photograph things in my own special way. I like to think I see the picture before I take it, the angles, the size and scope, what it expresses to me and what I project back by editing and posting online. It sounds weird, but I want something to capture what I already see with my eyes and mind, and to enhance and portray that in a way that reaches people out in the world and beyond.
Hopefully this isn't too long of a post (it's my first one haha, just made my account tonight in the hopes of finding good advice and cool people to speak about photography with).
So at the end of all this, I guess I am wondering, what type of camera could fill this need/desire to learn the basics and get better? What types of cameras are out there in NZ stores or online that are decently priced but also are a good camera for myself? Whether it be a smaller digital or a DSLR or something else.
Thankyou for taking the time to read my post if you do, look forward to hearing what ya'll have to say!
Cheers
