Hi I am building a house in Christchurch and am looking for a reputable, good provider + installer. Our option currently is to do Mitsubishi Ducted Heat pump + Lossnay + Airtouch. It will require additional zones. Does anyone have any recommendation for us? I have heard so many stories re configuring the system after it is installed so would like to get someone / company that are experienced. Thanks.

I can't answer the question, but I would say volume of installs does not always indicate ability. My first ducted heat pump was installed by a nationwide company who do many, many ducted heat pumps, but they did a below average job. My second install was a smaller company but they were better trained and had experience with the systems, so they did a much better job.

You could ask Airtouch or the NZ distributer who they recommend in Christchurch. I think the distributer is www.smooth-air.co.nz the person I was in contact with previously was nazir @ that domain.

We had a Fujitsu ducted system installed 2 years ago by Air Con NZ, had no issues with them and would use them again. We didnt have any Lossnay/Airtouch or additonal zones added so can't comment on that side of things.

Can anyone recommend a good airtouch installer in Auckland as well?

Three years ago we had a ducted Daikin with Airtouch installed in our upstairs bedrooms, along with a couple of Mitsubishi floor units in the downstairs living areas. It was done by HPAC (www.hpac.co.nz) here in CHC and I'd quite happily recommend them. Everything just works and works well.

We got three companies to quote - the third one (can't remember who it was) was useless. But interestingly, HPAC and Gavin Lowe specced and costed almost identically. I think it was the more personalised service from the HPAC rep that tipped our decision.
