Hi,

I have a 2 gang switch being used as a one way. So 1 switch operates 1 light and the other switch, a different light.

I have replaced the switch as the old one had a redundant dimmer dial per switch.

I wired it the same but removing the dimmer connections, however that has not worked.

There are no live feeds going into the common but then there wasn't previous.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

If you are unsure, get an electrician in. You need to move the wires from "loop" to "C" in the centre.

At one time it was legal to re-identify the green. Actually has sleeving which is more than most 80s houses had on the cable. Possibly added by whoever put the dimmers in.

This is a classic example of why home owners should not do electrical work, as far as the sleeving goes, yes at one stage it was legal to sleeve a green another colour, but no way to identify from the picture when the work was originally done.....

No telling who did it but it doesn't look that old. I've found the same thing done in 1990s in our house but sleeving was red.
