I know that Tomizone are now in all the Starbucks providing internet access but after my last experience with them I wouldn't hand over credit card details. I gave my credit card details thinking that it would be secure and safe, however I was triple charged. At the time I was actually fine with this as I thought Tomizone were a reputable company that would refund me as their system charged me 3 times. However I was wrong, I was meant to hear back from the general manager who I think is a guy called Steve Simms. But I didn't and they kept the money, as long as you don't hand over credit card details to them you should be fine and stay on the free connection provided by Starbucks, but be careful if you do. You can see the little help the Tomizone staff provided me below...

It's 100% your fault, your system failed yet over charged me. Please have
your general manager get in touch with me.

I will be escalating this issue if you don't resolve it.

We don't look happily at soapbox posts on Geekzone. They are usually one sided and we don't know all the circumstances around events. 

You should contact your credit card company and ask for a chargeback.

Yea, I still have to call the bank. I just wanted all geeks to know the pain of some of these companies. Hopefully portable wifi devices pick up and kill off cafe style wifi connections in general. Once NZ has better 4g coverage portable wifi hotspots are the way to go, then we just need one for roaming.

There's your answer right there. If you're a local you just need a smartphone with Internet Sharing and that will be A LOT cheaper than any paid for WiFi hotspot service.

I have used tomizone no problems. From the details provided in your post there is not enough information to work out what might have happened in your particular circumstances. It appears they did not follow through on a commitment to contact you but that is about it, bad as that is I agree.

Your post is not a request for assistance, and as a warning it is virtually useless.

You could be a lot more specific abou the sequence of events if you wanted assistance to resolve the issue.
