Hi,

I'm trying to connect a PC to my television. Sadly, my TV only has composite RCA and component inputs, and my PC only has S-Video output. I tried using a S-Video to component RCA adapter and it works ok, but the picture is very blurry. Is there any kind of adapter that will convert S-Video signal to component RCA, keeping the quality at S-Video levels? I'm not an expert at these cable types, but I have read that S-Video is similar to component RCA, except that the two color channels are combined into one with S-Video...

Downsampling from s-video to composite is always going to throw your picture quality. Your best option may be to use an external converting box and take your PC VGA signal and convert to RGB/Component - DSE have this one

I have used the DSE one - it isn't great, but is better than running composite.

also for some reason,,, taking s-video and then converting to composite (i did it with a small disc ceramic capacitor over the synch and chroma or whatever lines they are) works better than taking composite directly... really unsure why???

The best option is to use LCD TV and connect your computer to the TV using VGA/DVI cable. That way you'll bet the best possible quality.
I recently bought one and now watch hi-def movies from my computer.
