Need a new power adapter/Charger for old Lenovo laptop

Shop I got from before out of stock.

Seen quite a few on Trademe (compatible)  all the details match except for AC Input

mine has Input 100-240V-1.5A 50/60Hz

The ones for sale all have 100 240V but the 240V 5069HZ is crossed through

Thought they might mean the plug that goes in wall but few I can see is type we use in NZ

I obviously don't understand, anyone help, can I use them 100V only?

If they are only 100v you can't use them. Some Chinese sockets are similar to the Aus/NZ pattern but are reversed ie the earth pin is at the top. I don't  know if the Chinese also require sleeving on the phase and neutral pins.

Edit do you have an auction number as an example? TradeMe normally don't allow non compliant electrical adapters to be listed.

I think it's a mistake, you could ask them but the strike through was possibly supposed to be underlining.

There's quite a few on Trademe different sellers, all have the 240V crossed off.

My search under

  1. Computers
  2. Laptops
  3. Power adaptors
  4. IBM / Lenovo

was "lenovo power 90W"

Its the power adapter 20V 4.5A 90W

7.9 x 5.5mm. has to have barrel end

Thanks

Perhaps link to the actual one you are questioning. I just looked at about 10 on Trademe and none had 240 crossed out.

Actual listings really help, because all the ones I could find with a picture of the rating label were fine.

I see this one that openly admits it's a knockoff: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/computers/laptops/power-adaptors/ibm-lenovo/listing/5343783011

I wouldn't buy it regardless of whether it stated 240V or not.

Everyone I looked at shows under input 240V crossed off except a used one. (see pic)

I'll go thru them again, some of the listings I saw were:

5343768968, 5343782961, 5347364378

Sorry Pic too big had problems working how to do it, too a photo downloaded to comp then dragged to here

I still think it's a mistake copied and pasted by different sellers after the original. . ." When an underscore is copied and pasted, it can sometimes be interpreted as a strikethrough, especially when using certain applications or when Track Changes is enabled in some programs like Microsoft Word. I think it is clearly a formatting error, and is intended to read 100-240V 50-60Hz

But it it was 100v only, no, you could not use it on NZ 230V power, it would fail with a loud bang within seconds (based on a time I plugged a 110V power tool charger into 230V, without a stepdown transformer). And it would be illegal to sell here.

Personally I would just buy a used genuine charger like this one (assuming it is the yellow round tip you want)  https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/computers/laptops/power-adaptors/ibm-lenovo/listing/5360452316

If you don't already have a C5 power cord lying around, they are fairly cheap:

yes I saw that one on Trademe but its 2009 so thought it might be a bit old.

Re PB have a power cord on the one I need to replace the adapter, the adapter box started to make sizzling sound  so definitely not using

Yeah, I think Trade Me's interpreting -text like this- as an instruction to format like this. The sellers aren't proofreading.

That is a trademe issue. Sellers I know have told them of this and they do nothing to fix it. Basically when there is a - and another - near each other, their genius text formatting thing decides its a section to put strikethru on. If they are far enough apart then it will not do it.

Just go to PBtech and get a proper one, don't risk it if you are not sure.

Thanks anyway, but its 90W.

Interesting about the Trademe error because there was lots and all had the same.

Either same seller with quite a few different user names or they've all copied the same thing.

Thank all
