Just checking if anyone is having issues with their fibre connection (I'm in the Cockle Bay Area near Howick).

Basically, um... no connection. Optical connection light is red on the ONT box.

Wondering if it's just at me or if it's happening for others in the area?

I've already sent in a support request but they've apparently got a large volume of support requests (standard email I guess) so wondering if this is more widespread?

A red optical light on the ONT means it can't communicate with the equipment in the exchange. Can happen if someone has been digging where they shouldn't have been, for example.

You can check the Chorus website for if there is a wider outage in your area with this link: https://outages.chorus.co.nz

Keep an eye on your emails - one of our team is working on your support case at the moment. :)

Thanks. Just got a reply saying it's been logged with chorus. Wonder how long they will take though!

There are some workmen outside I've just noticed. Wonder if one of them has done something....

Well, even better. Chorus chap turned up today and found the issue at the cabinet. Said something about the fibre not being connected properly (or checked) after the install and had to be reconnected.

So, all's well in House Naseem. Many thanks, Bigpipe peeps for the speedy resolution!
