Hi,

I'm having an issue on my Spark Fibre connection in ChCh, it's an unlimited 1G connection, normally works great.

Sometime in the weekend or early this week, I can no longer access www.avsforum.com from home. It works fine from work, and fine from home if I VPN into work and route through there (Solarix fibre).

Tracert from Spark:

Never quite get there, after VPN in to work, the web site and trace route works fine:

Any ideas what is going on? The rest of the internet seems fine, I have the same issue from windows & iphone, even running a tracert on the mikrotik router give the same result.

Thanks,

Andreas

I'm on Spark Fibre Max in CHch and I can access it... That said it does sound like there's an issue. Could those affected please PM me the following.

- Your public IP address

- Whether its dynamic or static

- What your networking looks like (What router,? are you bridging? Do you have a separate FW as well? What DNS servers are you using? etc)

- output of tracert www.avsforum.com

- Comment on when you noticed it, and whether it's been on and off, or is reliably (every single time) not working.

Cheers - N

There was an issue earlier this week as I hadn't been able to access for several days but after a quick post to their Facebook page it came right again and still working as I post..  It was almost like a geoblock as I could access them with a US VPN.

Regards,

Old3eyes

Thanks for the messages guys... I'll pass them on to someone who can check the routing but at this stage it appears to be something outside our network - like old3eyes reported above. I'll let you know if I find anything specific.

I had someone in our international team look at this and there's nothing on our end... He thought it was likely some blacklisting on their end for some reason (not saying you guys have been bad, they seem to be pretty generous with their IP bans - this wouldn't be the first time I have heard of that forum blocking significant prefixes...

Cheers - N
