Ok, so I'm travelling to Sydney in July and was planning to take my prepaid 027 Mobile with me.

So I ring the roaming helpdesk to set it up. They said there is no longer roaming support for prepaid customers and that I'd have to change to a postpaid plan if I want to roam internationally.

Then I ring the postpaid department and ask to have my phone put on OneBill on my landline account (I'm a light user and don't want or need a larger contract plan), but they said no. The reason being I don't have my direct dial tolls with Telecom. That's odd I'm thinking because I already have a different (my partners) phone on Onebill. She said that I can no longer have it on OneBill because of my toll calling not being with tcom. It's interesting because I cannot find anywhere online that says tolls are required to have OneBill. Currently I pay ~$120/Month on line rental, caller id etc. and my partners phone.

I then ring the roaming helpdesk back and explain my situation. No further help. My only option to get international roaming is to change my tolls provider back to tcom (to go on OneBill and get a loan phone) or use vodafone.

I'm really disappointed in telecom, and am considering changing my landline account to vodafone where everything will just work.

Argh!!

I'm pretty certain your tolls can be with whoever you like but they offer a special land-mobile rate if you call with Telecom..

Ring them back and double check.

What phone do you have? As far as I am aware none of the worldmode phones can be provisioned on a prepay plan and of course your 027 CDMA phone won't work there any longer.

The w531 and Okta mondo can be provisioned on Prepay as they are just WAP phones.

The Blackberry and Samsung Global (i325) cannot as they are DATA phones.

You do not need to have tolls with Telecom to be eligible for Go One Bill; you only need the Landline connection to be with Telecom.

Go to your local Telecom dealer, or store they will be able to sort you out.

Correct, however you can not purchase the Okta Mondo outright on Telecom Prepaid.

That's wrong - I have on occasion asked Dealer Support for approval for a customer to go on onebil and approval has been denied because the customer's tolls are not with Telecom.  They will not approve a onebill upgrade either, if the tolls are no longer with Telecom.  I wil only be able to sort the customer out by saying what I have just written.  However, If the customer has a family member willing to put the phone on their bill for the duration, that would be okay.  As long as they have all their calls with telecom!

Moby, I have just pm'd you on this. You can have GO Onebill if your tolls are with another Telco.
