Hi everyone.

I have Gigetown fiber broadband with Spark now. I am experiencing huge lag from last month.

There is nothing wrong with hardware.

trying to find where is wrong by using tracert.

From the results shown below, i found something interest, at least to me.

It has the big latency between hop 7 and hop 8. However, those two IP address are belong to Spark, according to the website https://www.iplocation.net/

and are all in Auckland!

How could it be like that? could someone explain the reasons?

It might pay to explain what your problem is.

MTR / traceroue doesn't work the way you think it does - there is no "big latency" between hop 7 and 8 - all that matters is the result to the final hop.

@RayZhou looks fine to me as well as Steve has asked what is the actual issue?

92.223.17.86 is in Singapore and total return trip is 194ms which is good quite a bit faster than a plane doing a return trip LOL

What figure latency are you expecting?

those jumps would likely be caused by it going from sydney to asia in one big jump :P

those servers likely deprioritise ICMP packets so they don't provide an accurate report of the actual time.

as mentioned what is the issue?

Those hops you are seeing are the intercontinental hops.

Is this a world of tanks server your having issues with by chance? that's the typical one hosted in SG that i can think of..

190ms is pretty normal depending on route it takes there and back. There is a slightly shorter route over SEA-ME-WE3 but that's often loaded so generally apart from latency dependant applications it's better to go the slightly longer route (your talking barely noticeable latency differences).

Far out Spark!!! How could you let this happen!! You guys are massive and must have managed to like fix annoying stuff like the laws of physics!!... Does @Talkeit not have an infinity gauntlet to mould the universe to his linings?!?

Assumptions being made here, but the IP address in the OP matches the *old* World Of Tanks SG server address so safe to assume this is about ping to World Of Tanks.

Wargaming moved the server from SG to HK a while back so SEA-ME-3 is no longer an issue. Also AUS/NZ players should be using the AUS server now if they are concerned about ping - but lack of players there makes the queue times suck.

Thanks for all of your helpful answer. I got much better understanding for the issue.

By using other tool PingPlotter as suggested, i may find where is problem
