Hi Guys,

I am new to geekzone. I have applied for a role in complex technical support in telecom NZ. Can someone define me the roles of CTS in telecom NZ.

Thanks,

Ali

I don't mean to sound ... like a crotchy old man, but wouldn't the job description have defined the roles?

Or are you asking what the perception of the roles are?

Thanks for your reply. Complex technical support is a generalized term. I am looking for specific solutions which they provide which could be numerous. In other words I am looking for their job profile in details and the services they provide.

I hope this clarifies.

The majority of the time where I have had CTS involved have been (mainly) for routing issues.

IIRC, I think CTS were involved when I was having problems with an ADSL connection.

Before Telecom / Xtra outsourced their email to Yahoo! I believe that CTS were involved in sorting out an issue with email delivery as well.

Umm.. you applied for a job which you don't know what it involves?

You could be making the cups of tea for the staff paid at minimum wage?

DNS, Mobile, some ADSL issues as well. It's basically tier 2 for the aforementioned departments.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

I forgot about DNS issues, although I'm not sure I've had issues of DNS escalated to CTS before?
