Some may say not an even contest here, but what sways me when I'm deciding which to purchase, is the Sanyo comes with a 1G card, whereas the Nokia doesn't. I know I can purchase a separate card for the Nokia, but which do you think would be better to get?

Planning on using it say on holidays etc and would dump images/videos onto card then PC/portable HD. Am upgrading current Hyundai TX95C pix phone to a good quality video phone.

Any other info needed?

Depends what you primarily want the phone for.

If it's for music, then the 9000 has the goods, 1GB miniSD card as you say, USB Data Transfer, and IMHO a better music player than the Nokia, and a louder ring / speaker volume. EVDO also is a plus giving you access to the Telecom Music store and surf the mobile web, aka WAP at broadband like speeds. Video streaming also, if your into that.

The Nokia does have its advantages though, including a better camera at 2MP compared to 1.3MP of the Sanyo, a good UI, and less steps for sending TXT messages than the Sanyo, along with a better screen. Bluetooth also comes into handy, and IR to a lesser extent these days.

The Nokia is worth the extra $100, and you can always get some AV cables, and play music via your home stereo, which will offer reasonable quality, and also has a random features which is lacking from the Sanyo media player, although you can load, and navigate at a faster speed on the Sanyo.

I got the Nokia. Love it to bits. Bought a 2GB card for it (MUST be slower cards for 2GB, not the new fast ones).

When Bluetooth is in range (i.e. when I pull up my driveway) the Nokia connects to PC sync automatically, and dumps all new vids and photos into my photo storage on D: drive courtesy of PCSuite. Not a single keypress required. Deletes them off the phone after the download too (optional).

Wicked phone. Love it. But tend to baby it a bit more than i would the Sanyo because of the big screen.

Wouldn't use phone to listen to music on, as have got a 20g iRiver MP3 player for that :)

Does the Nokia not download videos through WAP? Can you view things like weather, rugby highlights etc?

Tony - which card did you get if you don't mind, so I can get a $ value? Have seen some at Ascent and Flashcards. I got told some ridiculous prices through a Telecom dealer for cards around $200 mark, but saw some around $60-70 online.

Can anyone comment on the quality of recorded clips on each phone? Can they be emailed/posted online and not look crappy?

Same view, full zoom (the 6265 zoom) has lots of steps, digital zoom only.

Photos are adequate. Worse in bad light, flash okay in some situations. Its nice to have a 2MP on hand ALL the time.

Most Telecom dealers buy and sell these cards in such small quantitys that its not worth the effort if they are not making good margins on them.

Id suggest Flashcards.co.nz every time due to good service I got.

Dam, are only $79.99 from TRS (Telecom Retail) Stores; I guess the dealers must be out of line in pricing on this product which is unusual.

Nice phone is that 6265, good choice.

Got told from a TRS 1g=$90, 2g for $108 from flashcards sounds good to me, any major differences beween a telecom(?) 1g card and a kingston 2g one?

Not any difference really, other than flashcards immediatley had the expertise to tell me i NEEDED the slower card to work with the 6265.

Honestly, a lot of dealers/TRS just wouldnt know that, I dont think. (Unless they read my blog :-))

Have just bought a 6265 off Trademe for $450 and am very happy with it

Got a 2Gb Mini SD card for it this afternoon and have just got it working after some fiddling

Thought these only took 1Gb max?
Has anyone tried a 4Gb card in one of these?
The 2GB card only cost me $110, a lot cheaper than the Telecom shop had the 1Gb cards for

Looked at a previous post in here that mentioned some people struggled to get even 512K cards working in theirs - and they were using Imations. My 2Gb wasn't even a good brand, its an Auspis, yet it works perfectly. Go figure

Hi Welcome to Geekzone.

The 6265 offically supports up to 2Gb mini SD cards but i do believe bigger ones will work.. no guarantee though.

The problems people are having with some cards relates to speed... the phone strictly adheres to the mini SD standard and faster cards i.e 133x don't stick to the standard and the phone cannot recognise them beyond knowing theres an unformatable card in the slot.

The 6265 is a fantastic phone, the first I've had in a while that hasn't broken and misbehaved on me.

There is a slight issue where message overwriting doesnt work, but that doesnt worry me too much as i never let my inbox fill up. Am considering getting the firmware upgraded. Can anyone confirm if theres a newer firmware version than HL100V0400.nep?
