Hello

I cannot contact ACC Nz govt number 0800 222 776 from my CISCO SPA504G phone.

WXC have suggested I try here. I can dial other 0800 numbers no problem. I get call cannot be contacted at this time. My call is leaving WXC no problem but is being recjected by ACC due to my settings I assume.

Any help appreciated.

You will have to set the following on your phone :

Packetization time (P-TIME) 20 from 30.

And codecs in this priority :

1.G711A
2.G711U
3.G729

This should fix it, the packetization time is the main culprit for these calls failing as far as I can tell.

On this phone it's called RTP Packet Size :

shouldn't this be automatically configured in the provisioning file as its a supported handset?

woohoo you are onto it.

I kept my codec order the same and change the 30 to 20 as suggested for the RTP Packet size and it works!

aaahh.... what features or advantages would that give a user on a phone like this over an automatically provisioned device?

thanks, good to know. really just wondering why anyone would want to run one of these on open when the auto provisioning works so well.

i have a client running three in their home based business on an average DSL connection in the country and have had zero issues and fantastic call quality...

speak to wxc, come off openVFX, provide them with the mac address then enter the auto provisioning url ...

Also, with the SPA504G, you can set your 1st priority codec as G722 and enjoy the HD quality when calling another HD device :)
